Plants without natural light: plan your lighting
Growing without a window calls for a suitable light source and monitoring. A plant cannot live long term in total darkness, even if it tolerates low light.
Define a proper growing area
Measure the area, foliage and mounting space. Identify the species and options for watering and ventilation. A room light switched on occasionally is not automatically enough exposure for plants.
Choose and monitor the system
Compare indoor plant lights with the use-based comparison. Follow the instructions for installation, distance and schedule; include a period without light. The foliage adjustment guide helps you record the settings.
What still needs monitoring
A lamp does not replace water, nutrients or functioning roots. A “full spectrum” label does not imitate every part of the solar environment. Photograph new growth, monitor the whole collection and make gradual adjustments.
The reference guide explains general choices; the windowless bathroom example covers a specific room.
