Sybotanica Sphagnum Moss – Natural and versatile

Sybotanica Sphagnum Moss is an organic sphagnum moss harvested on Dutch farms. Natural, slightly moist and ready to use, it is ideal for maintaining moisture while ensuring good root aeration.

What is this product used for?

This moss is versatile and can be used for:

  • Propagating and rooting delicate cuttings
  • Air layering and seedlings
  • Mixes for orchids and other epiphytes
  • Terrariums, to regulate humidity and ventilation
  • Kokedama, to bind the soil around the roots

It is not recommended for plants that require a very free-draining or dry substrate, such as cacti and succulents.

How to use sphagnum moss

  • Propagation: place the moss in a container, moisten it and insert the cuttings to encourage rooting.
  • Orchids: mix 10 to 30% moss with treated pine bark and perlite to improve water retention.
  • Terrariums: lay a layer of moss between the substrates or on top to improve ventilation and control humidity.
  • Kokedama: wrap the roots in the moss and secure with string.
  • Moisture management: place near the roots or on the surface to maintain a humid microclimate.
